My father first posed the question. I was roughly 12, standing on top of a tiny sledding hill in our Pennsylvania backyard.
"What do you want to be when you grow up," he asked.
The answer was something along the lines of, "A professional hockey player, obviously."
"Anything else?"
As it turned out, the answer was yes. At a young age, I was fascinated with sports broadcasting. My dream job was to be the play-by-play announcer for the New York Rangers. Over time, that interest morphed into journalism. Since graduating from Ithaca College in 2002, reporting and storytelling is what I have loved, enjoyed and pursued.
My career began at KPAX in Missoula, Montana, mainly serving as news reporter. After four years, I moved to Spokane, Washington. There, I worked for KXLY and KREM as a news reporter and anchor. Then, it was on to San Diego, California where I reported for KSWB.
I spent nearly five years at KING in Seattle, Washington, working with some of the most talented photographers and journalists in the profession. A compilation of my stories in 2015 earned an Emmy award as best reporter in the Northwest region.
Currently, I am in Las Vegas, Nevada as Morning Anchor and Politics Now Host for KLAS. I also shoot most of my stories on my iPhone and edit on Adobe Premiere. In 2017, I earned another Emmy for breaking news coverage of the October 1 shooting on the Las Vegas Strip.
